Remya Aravamuthan is the Head of Chambers in High Street Chambers.
Remya is a mediator at the Singapore Mediation Centre, Patent Agent, Community Justice Lawyer at the State Courts of Singapore, Collaborative Family Practitioner and trained parenting coordinator at the Family Justice Court of Singapore. She is also a Commissioner for Oaths in Singapore.
Prior to setting up High Street Chambers, Remya practiced at leading global law firms based in Singapore. She is a multiple award-winning Legal Aid Bureau lawyer and is listed by Asia Law Network.

Shariah law
- Successfully represented the respondent-wife to dismiss a stay application preventing the wife’s application for ancillary reliefs under Shariah law for a marriage that was dissolved in Batam Court. - ED v EE - (2021) 8 SSAR 292 (2021) SG SAB 12
- Successfully represented the wife seeking Nafkah Iddah and Mutaah after dissolving the marriage in a foreign jurisdiction. - DN v DO (2021) 8 SSAR 166; [2021] SGSAB 4
Supreme Court appeals
- Successfully represented the wife in an appeal from the Family Justice Courts to grant an additional relief where parties had previously entered into settlement agreement in contemplation of divorce . - UJM v UJL [2021] 2 SLR 1467; [2021] SGHC(A) 10
- Successfully represented wife who applied for permission from court to commence proceedings against the husband. It presented a valuable opportunity for the Court of Appeal to consider a further aspect of this profound and momentous change to the Singapore court system. - UJM v UJL [2022] 1 SLR 967; [2021] SGCA 117
- Successfully represented the husband in the case relating to split care and control of the two children. The court considered that it is not unusual for courts to order split care and control in unique situations. - WIQ v WIP [2023] SGHCF 16

- Represented wife in a dispute involving properties that was either a gift from her parents or acquired during the duration of the marriage, on whether they can be excluded from the pool of matrimonial assets. - TFS v TFT [2014] SGDC 352
- Stay of Singapore proceedings due to pending foreign divorce.
- Successfully represented husband to stay divorce proceedings in Singapore. - USE v USF [2019] SGFC 8
- Successfully represented the plaintiff husband in a very acrimonious divorce with no evidence from either side, disputing the entire division of matrimonial assets. - VGN v VGO [2020] SGFC 26
