Benjamin Khoh

Benjamin Khoh assists the Head of Chambers and also performs his role as a General Counsel in making decisions on legal, risk and compliance issues affecting the firm, including operational risk, regulatory matters. As an internal advisor performing management and risk function, Benjamin ensures profitability and sustainability. Benjamin has played an indispensable role in the firm’s management, strategy, and client relations, and had represented on behalf of the firm in receiving awards.

In addition to his responsibilities at the firm, he is also engaged in legal writing and academic research, which led to his appointment as an Adjunct Lecturer in Law at several prestigious universities. He teaches undergraduate courses in Commercial Law, Professional Skills, and Family Law. He is also on track to receive his Master of Laws in Legal Practice in 2025.

Singapore company’s claim against a former employee for breach of confidence. - Asia Petworld Pte Ltd v Sivabalan s/o Ramasami [2022] SGHC 128

Trusts disputes

Successful in getting a trust relating to a HDB property recognised by the courts. - Ong Chai Soon v Ong Chai Koon [2022] SGCA 36

Shareholder disputes

- Property trust company in a profit distribution dispute involving $50m. - Tarun Hotchand Chainani v Avinderpal Singh s/o Ranjit Singh [2023] SGHCR 5

Cross-border disputes

- Trust disputes between the directors and shareholders of a company in the UAE which was concurrently litigated concurrently in UAE and Singapore.

Fraud and investigations

- An individual who was subjected to a Mareva injunction order. The individual was an associate of the main defendant in a US$60 million fraud claim

- Defending an associate of an investment scheme against a conspiracy claim involving US$100m

Restructuring

- Resisting an insolvency application and restructuring a director of a private education institute on her $200m debt obligations
